I received the following photograph from Allan Fulcher and shows Allan and his father Walter outside their back gate at 1 x 6th Street. Allan's cousin Stan came to visit from Rotherham to show off his new BSA 350cc motor bike. In the background can be seen the allotments at the bottom of the Dardanelles, the pit heaps and the big pit heap at Thornley with the chimney and pulley wheels.
