I received these photographs from Tom Armstrong who used to live at 22 East View, Wheatley Hill and was a blacksmith at Thornley Colliery and currently lives in Sunderland.

This one is of Tom in 1963 probably at East View.

This one of Tom was taken in 1965 and shows him at Douglas in the Isle of Man. The Tower of Refuge stands on St Mary's Isle (Connister Rock) in the background.
