I obtained this photograph from Tom Urwin and shows the Wheatley Hill Junior School Play - Dick Whittington and His Cat (circa 1952/3). Another photograph is on the web page showing Dick, his cat and some of the other children.
Back Row:- Malcolm Foster; Alan Ord; Michael Whale; Billy Williams; Hilary Preston (the vicars son from Wheatley Hill); Eddie Newby; Barry Bean; Ralph Bulmer or Alan Scrafton; ?;Bobby Winter.
Front Row:- Tom Urwin; David Robson (Luke Terrace not Dardenelles) or Jimmy Johnson; Ray Newton; Bobby Booth; Richard Robinson (lived in the Dardenelles; Bobby Vincent; Melvyn Humes (nickname Shonney -moved to Canada); Revelly Patterson.
Tom and John Orchard gave me information on the names above but couldn't reach a consensus on some of the names, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Update from Frank Dinsdale - Lad between Alan Ord and Billy Williams is Michael Whale. Frank mentioned that Michael's father Allan was one of 'Tommy Steele's' Steelmen, playing an old type double bass fiddle.
