I also received this photograph from John Gair. Barry Fulcher scanned it and sent it along to his cousin Allan and then to me!! It shows the Colliery Prize Band in the Welfare grounds. Not sure of the date.

Update from Alison Larkin who is the Granddaughter of Jackie Halsall. Jackie is shown seated in the front all the way to the left next to the drummer. According to Alison the family joke was that he was the smallest man in the band but played the biggest instrument.

Updated from Edith Cormack (nee Charlton). Edith's Grandfather Stothart Charlton sitting in the front row with the braids on his uniform, 3rd from the left. Also shown is Edith's Father Stothart Charlton standing in the middle row, 4th from the left (2 along from the drummer). Edith's Uncle Alf is shown standing in the back row 1st on the right.
