Received the following photographs from Alan Jones who used to live at Johnson Estate. The first photograph shows Alan with his future wife and his niece. In the background is the pinnacle in the Wingate Quarries.....long gone but a landmark to those who spent their youth climbing and wandering around those quarries, bird nesting, blackberry picking or fishing at Trimdon Pond or 1918 Bridge Pond..

This one from Alan shows Alan's future wife and Alan's sister Pauline with niece and Alan's Dad Griff Jones. Griff was an electrician at Thornley Colliery. They were attending the WHOs Scout Day Carnival

The next photo is at the Girls School field for the celebration of the WHOs Scout Day Carnival.
