The following photograph is from George Bannister, it was a photograph given to him after his father's cousin Ruby Robinson passed away. George does not know where it was taken or the name of the little boy but Ruby lived in Wingate and used to visit her parents in Wolmerhausen Street and it may have been taken at either place. The colliery houses built at that time were all very very similar.

Update from Ken Unsworth from Wingate. Ken thinks that by the shape of the houses and the toilets opposite and also the slope of the street it is New Row, Wingate. New Row was a long street to the West of North Road facing the pit heaps.

Further update from Ken....his wife Maureen pointed out that the toilet doors were on the side and Ken and Maureen think that New Row had the toilet doors on the front although some at that end might have been on the side.....a little doubt there!!!......all good feedback.
