Allan Fulcher sent me this photograph showing George and Bill Fulcher. Allan recieved the photograph from his brother George. George and Bill enlisted in the Scottish Cameronians at the outbreak of WW2. During the war they both saw a great deal of combat and were part of the first Allied landings on the Italian mainland in 1943. They managed to survive through two major battles in Italy, one at Reggio and the other at Salerno.

The following photograph shows General Montgomery saluting the troops from a Bren carrier. It is from a book called 'The Fifth Year of War in Pictures'. The Bill and George are shown marching up the street. Allan obtained a copy of the photograph from his cousin Ron (Bill's son) in Leeds. Ron's Uncle George from Seaham (Ron's mothers brother) copied it from the book back in 1946 and many years later it was given to Ron.
