I received the following photograph from Maggie Moran (who presently lives in Connecticut, USA). It shows some of the people from the village who volunteered to be extras in a BBC documentary about the 1926 miners strike. Maggie says that her Dad (Tommy Hagan) is in the back row with the fake mustache. She also mentions that she recognizes Dot Henderson and a couple of other faces but cannot put names to them. I recognize Terry Hoban, third from the right in the middle row and Tom Cowie at the front right. Marky Bailes is shown on the left front row with the bowler hat, courtesy of Terry Hagan for the update.

Christine Kilner (nee Mortimer) originally from Passfield Square, Thornley (now living in North Yorkshire)

2nd row - 2nd from the right - Chap wearing a black scarf and red waistcoat is William Henry Taylor (known as Bill).  This was my sisters late husband who died when he was 44.  He lived at Wheatley Terrace, Wheatley Hill when this was taken.
