I received the following photograph from Irene Dahl (nee Alderton) and shows a presentation of a television at the Aged Miners Homes with Teddy Caine and Manny Shinwell the Labour MP for Easington. Irene's mother is shown seated  to the left at the front and Irene's father is shown at the back to the right of the cupboard. Irene remembers that before they had the television that the old miners came to their house to watch the the cup final one year on their small television. Irene's father was well know as he used to be the compensation secretary. I recognize Jack Hedley to the right of Teddy Caine and Ralph Watson next to him. Anthony Wharrier is next to Manny Shinwell.
