Colin Davies sent this photograph of his Grandfathers discharge certificate from WW1.

The name on the certificate is incorrect as is should be George Jordan.

George's family used to live in Dyke Street Thornley, near The Ritz then they moved up to the Ages Miners bungalows near The Villas. He was probably deaf because of his war injuries. His wife used to scream and shout at him, calling him names but then they used to sit holding hands watching the telly......totally in love. He used to fix clocks and had a bit of an artistic streak as he used to draw patterns on hessian so the women could make the proggy mats.
